Barack Obama II born August 4, 1961 is the President-elect of the United States of America. He is expected to take office as the forty-fourth President of the United States on January 20, 2009. He also is currently the Junior United States Senator from Illinois. Obama is the first African American to be elected President of the United States, along with his wife Michelle Obama who is now the first African American First Lady. Obama is also the first African Amrican to be nominated for President by a major U.S. political party.
